The 12th Call for Proposals for XMM-Newton closed October 5, 2012; successful submissions will be announced in December. As a result of the last Senior Review, some funds will be available for top-ranked proposals with U.S. PIs. Eligible PIs will be notified in early 2013.

In May, 2012, the XMM-Newton Science Operations Centre (SOC) hosted a meeting on Galaxy Clusters as Giant Cosmic Laboratories. The presentations are now available online at http://xmm.esac.esa.int/external/xmm_science/workshops/2012_science/.

The SOC will host a workshop May 22-24, 2013 to discuss the most recent results of studies on the high-energy phenomena associated with isolated neutron stars, pulsar wind nebulae, supernova remnants, and gamma-ray binaries. More information is available online at http://xmm.esac.esa.int/external/xmm_science/workshops/2013_science/.
