Division affiliates professional societies

HEAD division affiliates are not members of the AAS but should be members of a comparable professional society. Example societies are

• American Physical Society
• Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
• The Optical Society
• Royal Astronomical Society
• European Astronomical Society
• Astronomical Society of Japan

Any questions about whether any particular society is considered a comparable professional society to the AAS should be addressed to the HEAD Secretary.
