3. HEAD Meeting 2011 (Newport, RI) - Joel Bregman (HEAD Vice Chair)
The HEAD2011 (7-10 September 2011) meeting is shaping up to be one of the best meetings
we've had, with 350 submitted abstracts. We will have a special session on the Future
of High Energy Astrophysics, which highlights the extensive international community
we have become. In addition to the lively regular oral sessions, eight other
special sessions will highlight a breadth of results that a panel discussion on SN Ia progenitors,
the Cherenkov Array, and the latest from the Large Hadron Collider.
The site of the meeting is especially pleasant: the coastal town of Newport,
with great beaches, an original Colonial section, and the Gilded Age mansions,
one of which will serve as the site of our banquet.
The meeting site is at
http://www.confcon.com/head2011/
where abstracts can still be submitted (until 5 August) and registration is
open (early registration until 5 August). Hotel room reservations are open
through 16 August 2011.
At this point, notifications have been sent out to everyone who submitted an abstract
by the May 13th deadline. If you have not received such a notification, please
contact Ann Hornschemeier (HEAD Secretary-Treasurer) at headsec@xraydeep.org
with the title, late abstract and control number (available in your email receipt) and we will
track it down for you.
