This list serves as a partial archive of recent HEAD meetings. Access to Web sites of past HEAD meetings, including abstracts and programs, is presently subject to availability on remote servers.

NOTE: The AAS is in the process of moving past-meeting pages from the old AAS website to the new site. As we make progress, we'll add more links to the below meetings.

The Nineteenth Divisional Meeting of the HEAD was held 2022 March 13-17, at the William Penn Omni, Pittsburgh, PA. The William Penn Omni is an historic hotel, first opened in 1916, a Pittsburgh landmark, and rumored to be haunted (stay away from the 22nd floor). It was designed by renowned architects Benno Janssen, and Franklin Abbott. Built by Henry Clay Frick, one of Pittsburgh’s wealthiest industrialists, the hotel combines the style of the great Old World hotels of Europe with the sophisticated technology offered by the 21st century. The Eighteenth Divisional Meeting, 2020 September 13-17, Tucson, AZ; Cancelled. The 18th Divisional meeting of the High Energy Astrophysics Division was scheduled to be held at the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa.  However, Due to the corona virus pandemic, this meeting has been cancelled.  The HEAD Executive Committee considered holding the 18th meeting as a meeting-in-a-meeting at the 238th AAS meeting in June 2021 in Anchorage.  However, since the decision was made that the 238th meeting will be held online because of the CoVID pandemic, the HEAD Executive Committee has decided not to participate in the virtual meeting.  Thus we made the decision to cancel the 18th Divisional meeting 

HEAD Seventeenth Divisional Meeting, 2019 March 17-21, Monterey, CA, Portola Hotel & Spa, Monterey Bay. This meeting celebrated the 20th anniversaries of the launch of the Chandra X-ray Observatory and XMM-Newton, and the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope, as well as the 50th anniversary of the HEAD.   Videos available at the HEAD17 Youtube Playlist.  Photos of the eclipse by meeting attendees are available here.

HEAD Special Meeting on High Energy Astrophysics in the 2020’s and Beyond, March 18-21, 2018, Rosemont, IL. The purpose of this HEAD special meeting is to provide a forum to identify the key areas of discovery for astronomy and particularly high energy astrophysics in the next decade, and to explore ways of advocating high energy astrophysics to the decadal survey panel.

HEAD Sixteenth Divisional Meeting, 2017, Sun Valley, Idaho, August 20-24, 2017. Sun Valley is on the path of totality of the 2017 solar eclipse which will occur on August 21. See the photos and experience a total solar eclipse.
